97 ext cab, fw d44 & 9inch, foa 14" coilovers, on 38s....finally done, somewhat.

Why are you going sterling instead of 14B? Not criticizing, just wondering

purely due to lack of funds. sterlings are 100-200 an axle, really easy to find, and idk, its normally under a ford:icon_thumby:. dont really have a good reason, but i dont want to build a big ol huge 14bolt, nor a 10.25, but thats what im gonna do for now. just gear it, weld it, call it good. eventually, i want to get a fabbed 9inch housing, and make it a full floater with 14 bolt outers, 35 spline shafts, spool or grizzly, etc. but that will be atleast a few thousand later. sooo im not sure wtf im doing lol. all i know is i need a d60 and a sterling soon, then a 5L+(some trans&tcase combo).

makes sense. One of my buddies has a sterling he is getting rid of. If you were closer, I'd try to help ya out

Liking the build on your rig especially how low it sits, making me rethink my build.

lol thanks, but a trip to sd isnt in my near future. although, i did find one in corning, ca on clist for 150 which isnt a horrible drive, but i still dont wanna drive 2.5hours to get it.

a 2 hour drive for a $150 sterling is a good deal. I sold my sterling for $600 and the guy drove nearly two hours to get it.

$75 all day down here, and 2 hrs from me they are $60 all day...

thats all i'd have asked for it but the guy made me the offer. wanted it and a KP d60 i had for his jeep. he asked what my bottom dollar was, i told him to make an offer, he said $1200, i accepted. lol

no, not a bad drive, and yes its a decent deal, but still dont want to do it. ive seen a few around locally for about the same price when i was building my 9inch, but didnt even think to grab any of them.

Wish I could find those people calling my number!!

Nice truck. Get that Saginaw done yet?

Do you think other brake boosters are available to decrease your stopping time and increase clamping capacity?

thank you!!:icon_cheers:

no i havent had the time/or motivation to swap the pump yet, let alone rebuild/tap the box. as far as braking goes, i think im pretty good where im at for now. i think being able to lock up all four 38s on dry pavement is pretty good braking power. hydroboost is definetly an option, and a serious consideration, but not for rightnow. maybe once i go to tons, and am riding on 40s ill do the swap.
