A 2000 Ranger 4.0 uses a 55 to 60 psi, and the 96 5.0 Explorer i used has a 30 to 40 psi, I need to replace the pump, should I use an Explorer 5.0 pump
thank you in advance

The engine and engine fuel injection is a 96 5.0

The stock Ranger pump will likely flow enough fuel as long as you swap to the return fuel system used on the '96 5L engine

Nobody has yet been able to explain to me why you couldn’t just run a 96 Ranger fuel pump and run a return line in a way that makes sense to me.

You could, it's wondering about the higher pressure was all. The 96 has a regulator in the fuel rail

The Ranger used the lower pressure pump with the regulator on the rail and a return line, single pump in tank, from 89-97. In 98 the Ranger went to a higher pressure tank pump and eliminated the return line. In 99/00 they put a return line off the fuel filter and a regulator in the tank.

The Explorer used the lower pressure pump with a return from 91-98, then went to the higher pressure and no return from 99+.
