sold my ranger time for bigger an better

2.8 Chevy's also love to eat connecting rods.

throw a 350 and some real axles in that s10, and you'll have a pretty decent rig. i kinda like the older dimes personally

Never had any major issues with the 2.8 that was in the '85 XJ (yeah, it was the Chevy engine), but hated that Rochester 2SE carb. It went well over 150,000 miles with no internal breakdowns.

So......
How is an S-10 "bigger" than a Ranger? And "better"? Hardly.

It's better for us...since he won't have a reason to stay on TRS anymore and talk about racing ricers.

Very good question. Im waiting on an explanation

I suppose if you consider it this way.....around here, the S-10s seem to be "better" at rusting out than Rangers. They seem to be "better" at hiding, since the ratio of Ranger to S-10 sightings is way off the scale. They must also be "better" at taking up space in the local scrap/wrecking yards, too.

Maybe the "bigger" part is.....they're "bigger" pains in the backside?

Just had to rep that haha

Wow, my ass itches after reading this thread.... Or is it my finger...

Ya well, if I owned anything 2007. Idc if it ate 200 a week in gas, i would never want your truck...
What help? If by help you mean people here telling you to get rid of your truck, then mission accomplished!!!

Good luck with that truck.
And please try to take some "English As A Second Language" classes...

lol s10's suck. My one friend is a die hard Chevy dude, he would never own a Ford, but even he would take the Ranger over the s10.

Not all S-10s are that bad.

Typhoon and Syclone?

My buddy had an '85 S-10 Blazer back in high school (1994). It had 498,000 miles. Original engine and trans. When his dad gave it to him, it needed a clutch. (2nd one since new.) He still has it, but it has a 4.3l vortec now. Engine still ran (as good as a 2.8l can) when we swapped it out at over 600K miles!

i've seen s10's be alright.. i've never dealt w/ the 2.8 in a truck. but in cars they were always junk. i'm not saying it to be a jerk. i wish you good luck on your s10. hope it treats you right. b/c i know how annoying it is to deal w/ a lemon. or just a pos used vehicle. so good luck. let us know how good/bad it turns out to be after you put 50k miles one it.

i do know that the s10 my g/f is driving is a pos.. but i wish you luck. enjoy your chevy

Our S-10 isn't bad. It's a lot newer too though.

I once had a 87 s10 with a 2.8. Worthless pos that I only kept around for 8 weeks then it was off to the crusher. That being said I would never buy another one again even if it was brand new. I say true to my blue ovals :headbang:
