sold my ranger time for bigger an better

I had decent luck with our 87 s10 blazer. I bought it at an auction with 67k for $250 with the synchronizer out of 2nd gear and drove it for about 15k just double clutching it. Then I put a clutch and used transmission and my mom and I drove it till 108k when it spun a bearing, which was partially my fault. I lugged it a little too much when pulling another vehicle. Plus I was a little lazy on changing the oil too. It never leaked a drop of oil in the whole time we had it which really surprised me. I only had to replace normal wear items like a fuel pump, water pump, exhaust, brake items, rusted lines, and tune up items. Yes the 2.8 was a slug, but I towed at least 10 different vehicles on the car dolly and it did better than I expected. The heaviest was an AMC Eagle wagon from Baltimore, MD to Uniontown, PA. It was getting to be a rusty pig toward the end. The body mounts were starting to go so the floor pan ended up resting on the transfer case. I unbolted the transmission mount, and used a floor jack to shove the transfer case into the floor and bend it back up out of the way. Redneck, yes but it kept on going for a while longer. It went decent off road but couldn't hold a candle compared to my B2 on the same size tires because the frame really hangs low on s10s.

You went from a healthy truck and a possible death trap. Way to trade up. :icon_thumby:

Just remember this phrase 'Polish a turd, it is still a Chevy.'
