daily doubler build

It is a vicious cycle, I'm hoping to just get mine done and wheel it.... and wheel it some more.... then wheel some more, haha.

Dang Bray.....I don't slam doors that hard.
Let me know when you have it done or if you need help with it. We could make a run to the cliffs and try it out. My ranger will need a trailer of course. And I'll run the 37's.

It was a low blow. Its all in good fun. Should be running shortly. I'll have all my clutch parts tomorrow, and I feel like I've got a good hold on the vacuum lines and such. We'll have to hit the Cliffs for sure. Maybe mid-end of May?

Speaking of low blows, here comes another :D

At least mine runs....:thefinger:

I ran mine so much the stock engine took a dump. Have you even worn the tits off of those boggers yet? :thefinger:

On a more serious note, does anyone know if I can use the auto bellhousing shim with the manual? I was just gonna cut out the inside so its like a gasket for the bolt pattern. Not sure if the thicknesses are the same between the auto and the manual though.

Mine was thin, like 10g sheet metal. It's just there to keep the aluminum trans from eroding against the cast iron block IIRC, shouldn't make too much of a difference if it's a couple .01" each way.

I've been reading that its there for the correct starter spacing? idk.

lol

Forgot it before... Did you get a 4.0l manual tranny starter? I grabbed a mint auto starter from a wrecker and realized you can swap starter cones to make them work.

Yep I got a manual starter. So I can use the auto spacer with the manual? Or is the spacing different?

You should be able to use that spacer. May have to trim a shade off where the starter passes through but it will work.

I'm gonna find out if it works or not this weekend haha. I've searched a little bit, no luck finding a manual shim.

You didn't look hard enough. I might know someone who has one............<---

haha. I thought about it, but figured I've hassled you enough. If you've got a set of calipers and can measure the difference between the manual and auto one that'd be awesome. Or I can just take your word for it that it'll work. :D

I might have one for each. Let me see what I have tonight and we'll go from there.

Sounds good. I'm gonna throw this thing together tomorrow, so if I don't hear from you I'll just try the auto one.
