heres the problem....in the morning if i start the truck(cant cause im replacing plugs and wires with no help from the bees) but then turn it off after running and driving it a bit it will not restart even if i use ether. im replacing the fuel filter once i find it and then kill the wasps. it started doing this after i burnt up the ignition wire last year then when my friend fixed it, it started on the first try(go figure) and worked fine for a few weeks, then it started acting up. it has a new battery, no exhaust, bad front tank fuel pump(rear tank works fine) and more chewed wires than i know what to do with(like that when i got it).

I question your friends "fix"

Check it to make sure something isn't wrong with it.

On mine, the fuel filter screws in the front of the carb. Follow the steel fuel line from the fuel pump on the side of the engine and it should lead you right to it.

had the same problem with my 2.8 this week. it would start and run fine for a short time, then die. i found out that the plug going to my tfi modual was intermitant. replaced it with a new one and it works fine now.
