sorry no pics.....i just saw a Reg cab longbed dually model, gen 1. It had about a 6" lift on it too. Didnt have my camera on me :annoyed:

ford never put a dual axle under the ranger...it was most likely the conversion kit that you can get from jc-whitney and such.

This one was on Ebay last week......................

I saw an x-cab dually last friday at a pub near my jobsite that we hit for lunch. Forget whether it was a gen 1 or 2 but it had a typical box on it (as opposed to a custom flatdeck like in the pix above).

this truck was just a dually with dually bed with the wider wheel wells. It was neat. Prolly was converted .

I seen a dually ranger the other day. It was all beat to hell and had a service box on it. I really doubt it was a conversion.

I asked a guy i work with who has seen\owned damn near every Ford under the sun.....and he said a girl he went to school with had one.

later,
Dustin

not tru....there were plenty that came from the factory with a dually back...but they were all for commercial use and they usually were so beat on they got crushed few years after they were made, but most had utility beds and not a standard bed on them....

no, the "incomplete vehicles" as they were called (chassis cab rangers) came with a single wheeled, 28 spline 8.8 in back (the 86-88 axles where the only 8.8's without a provision for a speed sensor).

imma see if i can get the build sheet scanned from my neighbor, he has a factory original dually ranger, they were made but it was probably on a special order basis only,.....not a standard option

My 1985 brochure shows the chassis cab trucks with only single rears. Even the heaviest Ranger is much lighter a F-150/250, and both of those have single rear tires, with at most 160hp on tap in a Ranger there just isn't the capacity to justify it. They make conversion kits, which people like to try to pass off as being original.

That isn't to say that there wasn't a company that made them out of normal trucks (like the soft top Sharrod BII's)

well he bought it from the dealer new with 8 miles on the truck, whether or not the dealer had a bunch converted or not IDK, but he did buy it from the dealer and its on the dealer invoice

i saw one at a 4x4 swap meet the other day & the rear end was out of a Toyota Motor home
