well this wasnt the same 1 then im in va but ill be watchn the build

Engine

I am going with a 92 4.0 instead of a 5.0. incase anyone wonders why.
1 I already have it
2 It runs really good
3 It is pretty powerful
4 Gas is expensive and I drive almost 100 miles per day.
5 The Ranger never came with a 5.0 from Ford.

Installed the new Melling HV oil pump and new timing chain

Went to work on getting the engine a tad bit better looking than the grey.

I am down in Georgia... I am the second owner..

In that case I've probably seen it on craig's list, and I could swear that I have seen that truck before as well. Maybe it was just one that looks similar though? I have been searching it recently for a first gen short bed reg cab, so I wasn't paying much attention to the second gen and up. Now I'm back in the air as to a long bed or short.

Where you at in GA? I'm in the Macon/Warner Robins Area.

Will be watching this build as well!

I am in loganville. This one has never been advertised for sale. It belonged to my cousin. It started running pretty bad and she was told it would take a few thousand to fix it. With that said she bought a new truck. I paid a couple hundred bucks for it then put a 45 dollar map sensor on it and drove it home. Ran really good for what it was.. Although if it was fluid it leaked it... I have had it since 2003 and just got started workin on it this year..

Next up. The intake. After searching high and low for a aftermarket intake and coming up empty handed I started to think about what to do about the disgusting looking hunk of intake that sat on top of the engine. Thus the phrase WWCS do? was born... (What would Carroll Shelby do?) I found a lot of people painted them. I don't think CS would do that. I think he would mill a new one! Yeah that is what he would do! Since I'm not CS and I am just a lowley PC Tech in a bad economy I am going to try to get close to what he might would have done.. In my case it involves Sanding and a lot of it... That hunk of metal has more pits in it than rock quarry. :annoyed:

After about 9 hours of sanding starting with 80 grit then moving to 180, 320, 600, then 1500. (80, 180, 320 were dry on a sander. 600 andf 1500 was wet sanding. Still a long way to go before it is done.. There are still a lot of pits needing to be sanded... If it wasn't for those it wouldn't be so bad.

a shelby ranger should have a 429 carbed with a t5 behind it and a nice rack and the ford ranger gt body kit a nice color with some strips. thats just how i see it

That's a lot of work on that intake! Looks good!
