Greetings All.
I have been out for a while. Work can do that to you...
During my V8 conversion I have run across and interesting conundrum.
I have a 96 Ranger (former 2.3) with a 98 Expo drive train. The speedo works, the PCM is not receiving a signal from the VSS (or at least not using it, apparently in 98 the Explorer the signal from the rear ABS sensor was used and either passed through or converted in the 4WABS module.). The cruise control will only work above 60mph.
Does anyone have info that could help me? I would like to know if the 4WABS makes a conversion of the signal or passes it through unchanged or if perhaps my VSS is just old and weak.
Thank you,
Dean Kelly
