Camber/ caster kit installation help

Can any body point me in the direction of how to install the camber/caster kit? I hit a curb a long time ago and finally took it for an alignment check after noticing my tires wearing bad. The caster on the passenger front side is off and the Goodyear guy said they would have to install the kit for both sides and after all was said and done it would be $400. So what is involved in doing it myself? From my understanding the part itself is only like $25. So I just need to know how to install them?

Remove upper control arm bolts and replace with the camber/caster eccentric bolts and washers. Point the tallest part of the eccentric up, tighten nuts and take in a have an alignment done.

Does anyone have any pictures of this process? Or maybe just a picture of the control arms with the wheel off and use paint to point it out..

O.K.......let's regroup....

apparently you're not ready to do this repair yourself......

find another good alignment shop....they should be able to put your kit in place & align the front wheels for LESS THAN $100.....caster, camber, everything!!!!

then you will have a safe driveable vehicle

(now...if there's some worn out tie-rods...ball joints...etc...those parts have to be replaced first....) you could probably handle that!

I think that's a little in called for. The picture that was provided and was a little confusing to follow. The guy said that you replace the upper control arm bolts with the camber caster kit bolts. But in the picture I couldn't find them?

That's because that picture is of the old TIB suspension on the 97 and down trucks.

You style uses upper and lower control arms, know as SLA or short/long arm suspension.

The upper control arm is held to the frame with 2 bolts.....remove and replace with camber/caster eccentric bolts and washers....point the egg shape of the eccentric upwards, tighten and drive to alignment shop. Get alignment.

Its not rocket science.

so the one circled is the one that i place of course on both sides?
i was just under the impression that the caster kit was like a giant washer looking thing.



is this the correct piece?
and would i need 2 kits since i have to do it to both sides?

or like this one from oreilly's only comes with 2 of the little washer like pieces

Yes, that is the right bolts.

Look on your truck...see if the bolts that are in there already have eccentric on the bolt head end, and a square washer on the nut end. If they do, you just need to get the washers to replace the square ones on the nut end.

Otherwise the top kit, with everything is what you need.

It's usually a kit per side, so yes you'll need 2.

So what is it exactly that this kit does if all it is, is just replacing a bolt? And how does it work to fix the alignment?

In stock form, the factory uses a preset camber/caster washer in the upper control arm bolts. When you replace it with the eccentrics, it enables you to be able to rotate the upper arm in and out to set camber and caster.
