Awhile back I picked up a small block zf5 with a 1356 t case, the input and output spun nicely and it went thru the gears. I let it sit for awhile, was gonna clean it up and now the input won't spin. Pulled the shifter cover off and it has no fluid in it. Idk where to start on this? Maybe froze up bearings?

I also found a spring resting in the top of the trans which I'm sure goes to the shifter some how, I got some diagrams off all data but there different than what I have. Any clues? Pretty sure the markings in the photo are where the spring sits.

Figured out where the spring goes, just tried pulling the slave cylinder off (internal slave) can't get it off. Broke an ear off of it with a pry bar. I'm sure this is related to the input shaft issue
