Hello All,

I am in the process of installing the dash after a complete removal.

The truck had a cage installed front to rear. In the process I removed the whole dash, the harness, and a lot of other things.

Here is a link to the build for the curious -

http://www.flickr.com/photos/fasteddy760/sets/72157604515364778/

I have connected all parts, pieces, computers, grounds etc.. I have a battery, charged also connected. The ignition does nothing, no head lights, no clicks, buzzes, alarms, nothing.

There are a few plugs on the front of the vehicle that are not plugged, of which I (incorrectly?) assumed were turn signals and perhaps another device or two, the coolant level sensor etc..

I'm thinking there is a master reset, or a accident/impact/crash cutoff that needs to be enabled or disabled.

If any of you have been down this road, is there something basic I am missing?

Or do I need to begin the hardcore testing and trouble shooting process?

Also, if someone can point me to pictures of the engine bay. I'm looking for the original placement of all items under the hood. This would include starter solenoids, washer fluid and coolant tanks, the thing on the passenger side that is heavy and has a throttle cable in it, charcoal canisters etc.. Different angles and high resolution desired.

This is for a 1997 4.0 Auto XLT, Cruise, Keyless entry.

Thanks in advance,
Eddy

Can Jump the Starter Relay - Engine Turns Over

To add to the confusion,

I can supply power to the starter relay direct from the battery and ground the relay which will engage the starter and turn the engine over.

The headlights should glow or something, but instead nothing, no lights, buzzers, beeps clicks pops or smoke.

Anyone, anyone have any ideas?

I have a Chiltons, however its confusing and legends don't seem to match diagrams. For example the indication for a ground is a bullet in one diagram and different in another diagram.

FIXED!!! One Wire Not Powered....

So I talked to an buddy, who is an engine builder - http://www.srperformance.net Steve Reeder.

He mentioned there are two wires on the power side of the relay.

I found the missing wire, black, and moved it to the power side of the relay. I thought it was a ground wire being black and all.

Vehicle turns over and has bells, buzzers, click, cranks dings and chirps.

YEAH!!

Now to get the rear end under the truck.
