You've had your truck too long when...

You can time the engine by ear and get it closer to where you want it than if you'd used a light.

If they'd figure out a way to weld rust together this thread would be irrelevent.

Pshh, I've had by truck since I was 3. That's longer than you've had yours.

I'm thinking you are what....12?:icon_rofl::icon_rofl::icon_rofl:

Just kidding. I'm certainly no record holder. I bought it new. I didn't realize that all parts I buy should have been life time warrentee parts since it's time for brakes and shocks again. I did get a free power steering pump earlier this year. However I did buy the lifetime fuel pump a couple of months ago. Remember when Ford was doing the "you pay once for a repair" program. I wonder if they still honor that now. Just drop by the Ford dealer for the second replacement of everything. Now that would be cool.

I've still got my tonka metal dump truck made 1983 same as I was...

How about when parts are no longer available... anywhere like my toyota..

I thought of this one on my way home from work today:

You've taken your wife out on your first date, brought you child home from the hospital, and taught your grandchild to drive all in the same truck!

And this one:

The only original part left on your truck is the VIN plate!

When your odometer rolls back to "0"

I turned 300,000 a while back, it was a neat sight. The only original part of my truck left is the frame, I've owned it for 7 years. It's been through 4 transmissions, 1 engine, 3 rear axles, a cab, and too many D28 shafts to count.

When your odometer rolls back to "0"

Mine is getting ready to do that for the second time. I'll have been in it both times when it finally does.

when the people at work pick on you for spending so much money and effort on repairs when they would have just junked their car and got a new one

You know you've had your truck too long when.....you build a bedroom for it...when you cover it up every night before bedtime and your woman says 'You spend more time with that truck then with me'. ...lol

When you don't need a repair manual to tell you whats wrong or how to fix it.

Hmmm...this sounds familiar...LOL~

Had my Tempo for 14 years and knew ahead of time what to pick up at the JY...

This made me chuckle.

One way that I know I've been around RBV's for too long:

I know what size socket and extension I need for a job beforehand.

For those original Ranger owners from 1983-85: your truck is considered a classic.

I think I will always own a Ranger. 9 years and counting...

Pete

when u have or are in the process of rebuilding the diffs went thru 4 sets of tires have either touched, wrenched or know of every bolt on it. people in three states know it is ur truck when they see it lol

high five. def what i was going to write lol

... when the cost of repair is more than the truck is worth, but sentimental value won't allow you to sell it and cut the loss. You fix it.
