I am in the process fixing up an 88 ranger that was wrecked in the front end. It started life as a two wheel drive I had the parts to fix it and to turn it in to a 4x4. In the passed I have cut corners from time to time but I haven’t on this project as much just trying to do it right. Where the truck had to be taken a part as much as I did every thing has been painted as it goes back together. I have a family of five and I am the only one who works so work on the truck some times goes slow for money sake but I am ok with that. The reason I am saying all this is the days are getting shorter and I suffer from seasonal depression now I step back and look at what I have done so far and wonder is it worth it This will be just a plane truck it will see some trails but remain bacisly stock it seams to me that most people that put this much work into there truck come out with some trail rig or really nice truck or a restored hot rod of some kind not a plane Jane ranger. Is it worth it or not

The only person that can tell you if its worth it or not is yourself..

Do you really want a Ranger?
Do you want a trail truck or a restored DD?
Do you need a Ranger?
Will you have the time/money?
Will this take too much time/money away from your priorities?
Do you have the motivation to finish it?

These are things you have to ask yourself

Now, will it be worth it in a financial sense, in will you get more money out of it than your invest? No.

ive done basically the same thing youre describing and let me tell you that i couldnt put a price on thattruck to sell it becuase it is such a part of me. i get an immense amount of enjoyment out of driving it (i may need counseling) and i know that if i would have spent $9-10k on a new used truck i wouldnt appreciate it as much as i appreciate my truck because I built it and I made it how i want it, not how ford thought i wanted it.
