My credo
I need more sleep.
So today I was at Wal Mart in the clearance section and I found a Ford hitch cover, it just has the Ford emblem on it and it was only 3 dollars. I bought it, thinking it was a great deal and when I got home soon found out why it was 3 dollars. You have to put 2 plastic pieces together that don't even fit and screw it on to the back of the emblem. And it turned out to be a lot of work just to get the damn thing put together, I had to drill new holes because of their misalignment and when I finally put it on it didn't even fit that well. But that's why duct tape always comes in handy. So the moral of this story is, you get what you pay for, and well, I guess for 3 dollars it wasn't so bad. I'll throw some pics of it in here tomarow, camera's not cooperating today, it actually did come out pretty nice.

I am a self appointed cheap @$$. But there are times where it will save a lot of work and headache to just spend a few bucks more. Learned that the hard way.

you bought a hitch cover?

:shok:

people really buy and use those???

Yeah, why not? It was 3 dollars. I figured it would be something new, considering I've been using my PBR one mostly.

i have had and have them....usually givaways from events we attend ect

they always get smashed....even on the wifes minivan....

not something i bother with anymore

Well, I wouldn't doubt if this new one broke, its 50% plastic and 50% metal, as whereof my PBR one is 100% metal. Lol, also there was some interior lights I was thinking about buying for 7 bucks, they were stick on led's but I realized they were only green and blue, which would be a hideous combination for a yellow truck, lol.

I actually thought this thread was gonna be about harbor freight tools lol

My new truck came with one, I've since lost it and just keep my stinger in the receiver, kind of makes people second guess their idea of tailgating when they get close and see the stinger and realize its gonna take out their whole car and not damage my truck. The receiver covers are only there to put in the hole to keep dirt from getting in it when you don't have a stinger installed, but its just as easy to get a stinger and install it with a dead bolt hitch pin so know one will steal it.

Oh gosh... Lol you know they sell those little RC airplanes there that you charge up and throw and they fly wherever its pointed. Well I bought a bunch there, built them, charged them up and flew them, they flew FOREVER. Could never find them again. I have to say tho, some tool's I've gotten have been fine from there, but some have been just utter disasters, my dad bought a welder, its been doing okay, don't know for how long tho.. But hey you get what you pay for!

As for HF stuff, simple hand tools are ok, but I generally stay away from cheap power tools. That being said... I took a chance on a 1/2" corded impact. Still going strong after a year. I bought a 90A welder only expecting to use it once then junk it, (I was waiting for my other one to be fixed) but 6 months later, it's still going strong. Now, I'm not your average user. I run an auto custom shop on the side, so I'm using these things all the time. Will I buy a drill from HF? No. Will I buy any sort of cutting tool? No. But the few Chicago electric tools I have aren't really that bad. You could do a whole lot worse for the price. I've had 2 GearWrenches break and 4 Craftsman wrenches. Im still on my first set of Pittsburg. And they are abused daily.

ha... I just derailed this thread.

Craftsman and GearWrenches have lifetime replacement right? Yea the drills are bad for some reason, my dad also bought an impact drill, and it shorted out after like 4 days..

Lmao!!!

Craftsman warranties have gone downhill bad in the last year or so. I don't have time to wait for another one to come in the mail.
