The axle under the front of my truck is out of a 94 Jeep YJ.

I've had a slight shake around 45-60 and it got worse so I checked everything.
The only thing I could find wrong was the steering damper, it was leaking.

As I was removing the bolt from the axle side, it broke, taking my hand with it and breaking my middle finger. :temper:

Anyways, I'm looking for the replacement bolt (or the size/thread).

The shake has now turned in to the full blown death wobble from hell and I can't drive over 40mph. :annoyed:

For temporary fix you could find a muffler clamp that fits around your axle tube and weld a tab on it to mount the dampener next to the spring perch.

I got it taken care of today.

The guy broke his extraction tool trying to get the bolt out, even after getting it glowing.
It took a little over an hour and a half, the guy was even cool enough to put the new damper on for me. They only changed me an hour labor (80$).

I took my truck to the belle tire about 30min away to have my tires road force balanced and now it seems to be smooth besides a mild shake around 50-55mph.
