Yet another t-case question

I'm not exactly sure what t-case I have right now. It's got auto 4x4 tho. The problem being is that the electronic clutch in it is finished and won't engage the front end at all. Although I can still get low range with it....just that it's 2 wheel drive. But yes, I'm set on a manual shift

yea if you have the 4.0 sohc and auto 4x4 you have the 4405, i just replaced one cuz they are junk lol.

The reason I started asking about the 1305 was because that's the only one the wrecking yards can find. And to answer your question from earlier, I'm from Sudbury, Ontario, Canada

oh ok, thats why, i hear its harder to get parts in canada then around here, that explains the price and the lack of 1354m's

For a direct swap you need a 13-54m from a Ranger or Ex, 98+.

If you find a 13-54 from anything earlier, you will need a 95-97 (V6) Explorer front driveshaft.

If you go with the 13-50, it will bolt in no problem. You will need a shifter from a Ranger or BII with a 13-50 and an A4ld or an M5OD. Other shifters can be modified to fit, but that one is a direct fit. Your driveshaft wont work, you will need a driveshaft also from a Ranger or BII with a 13-50 and have it modified (I dont remember if it needs to be shortened or lengthened).

The only real strength difference between the 13-50 and the 13-54 is the planetary gears. All 13-50s have 4 planet gears, most 13-54s have 6. The 13-50 is plenty strong for your V6, they hold up fine when used behind mild V8s.

EDIT: Hey Kevin, where's your 4405? I'm still waiting to open it up and see what happened. :D

Well, the 1350 at the junk yard is out of a mid to late 80's ranger...so not sure how well that would work out

It will work.

They made 2 different 13-50m's. They are the same strength. The only difference is the front adapter plate. Early 13-50s are drilled and tapped for standard bolts, later 13-50s are drilled and tapped for metric bolts. I dont know what year the change-over was, but I think it was around 85-86. Either one will work, if you get an older one you may need new bolts.
