Yes, a 4x4 issue.

I have a 98 4.0 5spd 4x4 with the electric shift 4wd. I put it in 4hi the other day, and when I went to take it out, it worked, but is now flashing 4hi and 4lo about every 2 minutes. I checked the fuses, and nothing is blown, so I replaced the (original at 185k) shift motor, and still nothing. I know it's controlled by the GEM, but my wipers and everything still work fine. Can just the 4x4 functions go bad in a GEM?

As it turns out, all I needed to do was disconnect the battery for a bit, and now it works fine.
