had some laying around so am currently trying in my 3.0. love the extra power (she has awakened). not yet sure about mpg. am changing o2 sensors and will keep tabs on mpg. only question i have is what # are the yellow injectors (4 squirters as opposed to one). anyone else tried?

IIRC, yellow is 24lbs. and the standard is 19lbs. I have 24lbs. injectors in my Ranger already since it's a FFV. Not really sure why you'd get such a noticeable difference if you've changed nothing else unless your original injectors were shot anyways....

may have been, am taking to get "rebuilt" so will keep notes. You said if nothing else done what other upgrade and would it be an economical (mpg) upgrade? i'm guessing for other upgrades would be exhaust and intake "enlarging". my end objective is for fuel economy, I believe thirty mpg should be achievable.

Your biggest gains for fuel economy will come from lowering your drag coefficient (air resistance, rolling resistance, drive efficiency).

Good luck. Tauruses barely got 30mpg to begin with, and they are far more aerodynamic than a truck. I'm not sure how larger injectors are going to give you a MPG boost.

Yellow's (actually borderline orange) are 19 lb. injectors. The 24 lb. injectors are blue.

Hmm..... now I wanna run and look at what color mine are.... I was pretty sure I had the higher flow ones because I hve a flex fuel engine, but I don't remember the color....

Um, it says

Colors are only constant for Ford Racing Performance Parts brand name injectors

and I'm prettyer sure mine are original. I'll see what color they are in the morning

granted other things were accomplished, but a friend of mine went to a larger injector and achieved on average 0.8 mpg. suspicion is the "spray pattern". but being "poor" not sure.

My Ford mechanic (my father) as well as a few trusted tuners have always told me that colors haven't indicated the flow rate of Ford injectors for a few years now (can't remember the exact year they started with the new system). The color simply indicates the batch of injectors. 19lb injectors may be green, gray, yellow, or some other color.
