sorry to add fuel to the fire,but in the engine compartment pics the fill tube and dipstick for the auto are clearly visible too.

Here is a somewhat better picture of my truck so you can kind of see what is going on.

Nothing wrong with a slushbox, take care of them and they will take care of you. I changed mine 8 years ago with a JY unit out of a wreck, been perfect motoring since.

If it is older than '85, it would have a C-5... which is closely related to the C-4. In stock form it is a good tranny and you can mix and match parts with a C-4 to either make a bulletproof V-6 tranny or a bolt in V-8 tranny.
