Ya know what really pisses me off...

It's Chevies around here. Most of the guys with Dodges actually get there trucks muddy. The big Fords take home the trophies, the chevies sit as yard ornaments that are too "pretty" to get dirty.
I don't care how ugly my truck is, As long as it works.

Some people spend alot of money fixing their vehicles up the way they want too. It doesn't make sense to spend thousands and go out once and screw it all up. To each his own.

To each his own?
It's mostly f-250 and few 350's that are few feet in the air that have 20's and few 24's
But I get a good laugh when I see the 8in blocks on the rear axle.

if you ask for my opinion on off road driving. Its 5% rig and 95% operator skill. My stock mazda has seen some hairy places and it has paid for it but she still runs. I see mud holes and get nervous for a sec then say ah fu#k it and go like hell and hope for the best:icon_thumby:

:agree: after watching 86ford yesterday plow thru some crazy stuff in his stock b2 I would have to save if ya dont know how to drive in the stuff DON'T be in the stuff.

Dude in my town has an outrageously lifted 78 F-250, it's been in magazines, that he bought new. At this point it's just a show truck although he drives it often in the summers. Militarys, 460 swap, 52" tires, tilt bed, rear steering, it's a well-built rig, everything first-class all the way. A few months ago I was sitting at the traffic light in front of Lowe's, he drives out with a new refrigerator in the bed. I started laughing. I'm 6'1" and the door sills are eye-level to me. Hope he had a forklift at home to get the fridge out.
S'all right, he's a good dude. I'm going to ask him about that fridge the next time I see him though.

its their money i guess.the thing that makes me want to puke is that one sticker................Z71.they think that makes their truck sme kinda ultimate off road super ride:bad:
:bsflag:

Z71, Trail Rated, FX4. They are all just symbols for the buyer to know that the truck does have some "little" upgrade that makes them more.

Personally, 2wd works just fine. Throw in a locker, and I am now plowing through more stuff. 4wd, don't need it until I officially say "F*ck" when stuck. But hey, thats why I carry a pull-along with me.

Pretty show trucks do have tendence to leave a bad taste in my mouth. Especially since when I'm the one that has to put on those 20" chrome wheels & the "never see dirt" off-road tires. But their is one guy that does get my full respect. Because he actually off-roads a old CJ Jeep with steel rims and 35" Mud-Terrain tires.

What's even more funny, is when they do all this, and don't know their shit, and don't intall lower gears. There is some idiot running around in a Dodge (all chromed out, it's stupid) running 44's with stock 3.73's.:icon_rofl: . I can beat him off the stop light with a 4cyl. :icon_rofl:. And I do understand about the usefullness of a truck like that. How in the hell do you load a couch, bag of concrete, or junkyard parts into the back of a truck that has a tail gate even with your chin?? Step ladder? :icon_rofl:

I get a lot of crap from people all the time now about this. I don't offroad my truck as much as I like to anymore, so it stays pretty clean and sometime is daily driven. Funny thing is when those dumbasses get stuck they call me. Then me and my "pavement queen" easily drives in to extract their butts out of an obstacle that I walk all over with ease. I don't support the bling guys who need a 20in lifted penis extension, but there are a rare few who don't have the time at the moment or the cash to dump into broken parts.

+1. Around here, all the spoiled frat boys, wannabe red necks and small dicks love to buy $50,000 crew cab, diesel Chevy HD 2500's only spend another $5,000 to 10,000 more adding winches, rims, tires and lift kits to compensate for their short comings. Speaking of mornons, check out these two geniuses http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VS782RfusCg

Yeah, I was just visiting my folks in FL, see a lot of lifted crew cabs that do in fact look like work trucks, but damn, that's awful high to lift stuff into the bed. That's one reason I never lifted my old Sport Trac more than I did (TT, shackles, bigger tires, about 3.5" total over stock), it was friggen' high enough to climb into the bed and I'm not getting any younger.
