I can't be the only person here who would drive the hell out of this.

From what I've heard, it's not that hard. It's as simple as cutting down a two door cherokee, shortening a comanche bed, and popping it all on the frame.

I would drive the hell out of that thing, I've always liked the looks of the comanche and the J-10's

i would so drive it

That is definately different. I like it. Needs a Hemi!

spyder offroad in Horn Lake, MS are certified AEV dealers and certified to do the hemi swaps on jeeps... they have done several jk's already. i'm sure they can do an xj/mj also

Holy crap. That looks good. I'd rock it.

Any websites showing this or did you hear about it?

A guy on jeepforum.com is making one. I have a few jeep buddies that have tried it and gave up and bought rangers. They said it took alot of time and it was a pain getting the angles and window size right.

That pictures like 3 years old, dunno how far the guy is now.

I wouldn't use the comanche rear section like he did though. I'd just graft the back end of the cherokee in. I think he wanted to keep the comanche look to it.

yeah i like the look of the first pic a lot more... than that weird black plastic piece thing..

The truck rocks, but aren't XJs built on a uni-body design? Or did they use the MJ setup, if that has a separate frame design?

the comanche had a frame, since the bed is separate from the cab

i need the front axle on one of those...

Cherokees and Comanches are unibody, with a front frame clip to hold the engine.

The Jeep Cherokee (XJ) is a unibody (monocoque) compact SUV. It shared the name of the original full-size SJ model, but without a body-on-frame chassis, it set the stage for the modern SUV. Its innovative appearance and sales popularity spawned important imitators as other automakers began to notice that this model began replacing regular cars.[3] It was built in Toledo, Ohio, in Beijing, China, in Ferreyra, Argentina and Valencia, Venezuela. The XJ platform provided the mechanical basis for the MJ-series Jeep Comanche pickup.

American Motors' Jeep designers based the Comanche body, styling, engineering, and drivetrain on the Cherokee XJ, which had been introduced for the 1984 model year.[2]

The Comanche featured a monocoque (unibody) vehicle, an unusual form of truck design, similar to the Volkswagen Rabbit pickup and Dodge Rampage (though the Comanche has a more conventional removeable cargo box, and the Rabbit and Rampage are technically coupe utilities, not trucks).
