mom says i need to quit working 2 jobs and go to college. i applyed for wyotech about a year ago. and i was accepted i just never paid the 100$ entrance fee and went. and since then i have heard bad things about wyotech. but really i think u get out what u put in. the stuff i heard was from slackers.

has any one gone to wyotech? have any input?

I've heard bad things as well... I think a member on here said that someone they know had to call HIM on something simple because Wyo didn't teach him. You're better off finding a community college close to you. Oh and $100 entrance fee? Sounds like some bullshit to me... why would you have to pay that? For community colleges around here, it is free to apply and you only pay for your classes after that.

Is that the one in Chicago IL? If so a Buddy of mine liked it. I went to Lincoln Tech in Indy. It is what you put in it that you get out of it. Good luck to you.

No... its the one where the main one is in Wyoming. Hence the "Wyo" in Wyotech. However, they do have locations in CA, PA & FL.

I was thinking it wasn't but can't think of the one in Chicago for some reason right now :icon_twisted:

I'm in the Automotive Technology program at the local CC and Id put that program up against any Wyotech or UTI. You can get a degree instead of just your certificate, plus its like a quarter of the cost.

ya i was gonna go to the one in laramie wyoming. really only cuz i hate math and all that. our local college lcsc from what ive heard has a great program they got a class built drag car i think a barracuda pullin 10s on the quarter. i just dont wanna pay that much and end up getting crap back for an education.

our local college is 35$ entrance fee. ive looked at uti but im not sure about it either really idk uti sight is kinda confusing to me? any input on uti?

I had to pay a 100$ entrance fee before i could start college.

THIS EXACTLY.

I had to teach a wyotech boy how to use a timing light and vacuum gauge.

i asked him why they didn't even teach him the basics and he told me it was an extra course... he's 30k in debt.

i went to community college and learned EVERYTHING and got hands on experience everyday.

by entrance fee, do you guys mean application cost? i've never heard of an entrance fee. makes it kinda sound like an amusement park.

Yes. Different colleges call them different things. Before i could schedule classes/be an actual student, i had to pay a 100$ fee. Stupid colleges and always making their money.

i've heard a lot better things from NADA (for diesel) and UTI

for some reason id rather go to a technical school rather than the local state college. ive heard some good things but nothing thats really influential to me choosing them.

i originally chose wyotech cuz they offer several courses in 1 year. i wanted to learn alll about cars. plus welding and custom fab and business management but i can go back to college.

there is a uti close to here like within 300 miles. so any thing good/bad about uti?

i really aint looked in depth to any of them yet.. i plan on doing uti or wyo after i finish ole miss. don't ask, its just something i wanna do.. but i want my 4 year degree first. idk if that makes sense, but that's my plan. if i can live thru ole miss
