Well, i got a paper in the mail yesterday, i got accepted to wyotech in blairsville, penn, im so happy, yay

Welcome to southwest PA.:icon_cheers: My wife is originally from Blairsville.
A couple things to know:
* The local cops set up speed traps outside WyoTech.
* ZMan is there (I think...or at least he used to be).
* On Rt. 22 West out of Blairsville there are a couple of really seedy titty bars.
* A little farther past the titty bars is a drag strip. :3gears:
* Dean's Diner has pretty good food for not a lot of money.

that sucks, i don't know what im gonna do, i cant get all my cars up there, nor do i want all of them there, lol

That guy must suck at being a technician, i love flat rate because i can make money doing it, i almost always doing in less time, my teacher used to love warranty wark because he could make money doing it

I think as long as you have the money and a high school diploma they accept you lol. How long is the waiting list now? When I left I think you had to wait about a year after signing up before actually beginning class.

Everything JohnnyO said is true. Deans Diner has some real good pie, I had breakfast there as my last meal in Blairsville. I never went to any titty bars out there but I did hear that a few of them are good, just not the really grimy looking ones, like the drive through one or "The Bee Hive". Theres one on rt22 about 20 minutes east of blairsville thats pretty good I've heard, just can't remember the name of it (come on it was two years ago).

Two things I advise you not to do..don't drive like a jackass in town, the cops come out of nowhere and they won't hesitate to ask to search your car. And don't mess around with the local girls, they're all looking for some excuse to get out of that town and in the arms of a techer is the perfect opportunity for them.

I stopped at the first link. Theres only two reason you can't make good money doing flatrate...
1. You suck and should get a different career.
2. Your shop sucks and you should go work for a different one. This is the more common problem.

So true, sooooo true. I lost count years ago of how many "techs" that were hired then quit/got fired within 6 months. Most were from "strait time" shops. But interesting, the guys that started off as lube techs then apprenticed and got their ticket, do very well.

I think the record was 4 hours between starting the first day and quitting. And here I sit, 10 years into my Ford career.:icon_confused:

You'll definitely want to try not speeding. My buddy wilton got a $160 ticket near the flea market. They like to sit all over the state route. So easiest thing to do is go 5 under and stay there.

The town in general hates wyotech. I got pulled over about 3 times and I drive a 1990 chevy astro van. True it does have clear tail lights, clear corners w/silverstar bulbs, and conversion headlights. All of them are dot legal and have the dot rating on the housings.

We lived in the pine gardens apartments located on 981 about 2.5 miles north of sheetz on rte 22 in new alexandria. Two bedroom apartment, kitchen, bath and best of all out of indiana and out of blairsville. all that for 515/month. We past pittsburgh raceway everyday to go to school.

just a fyi and keep in mind as housing in blairsville is expensive.

And that is bad how? :D
FWIW, the wife had already moved to Pittsburgh years before when I met her.
