K so I went to fastenal and got my 3in by 1 3/8 in washers to level my truck. I went back later that day and the guy asked me what the washers were for and when I told him he said that the washers wouldn't hold up to the stress, even when welded. He said to get the poly leveling kit from a 4x4 shop. then I told him the metal was better because the poly crap has a bad rep for falling apart over time and that the washer lift is a common modification that us ranger owners do.

So my question is: Will I be ok with the washer lift or should I just go get a poly leveling kit from the 4x4 shop?

If there hardened you'll have no issue.. Last time I walked thru a Fastenal's doors, I was looking for rod ends/ heim joints. They could order them, but they were $40 each for 1/2", and they were cheepies.

alright well I didn't get the hardened ones beacuse they were like $2.00 per washer :shok:

Would I still be ok?

I ran regular washers for years....up until about 4 months ago when I started my SAS.

Don't worry about them.

I've had junky Home Depot washers on mine for over 15 years now.

Alright I really appreciate the input guys! looks like the lift is a go, except they only had 1 3/4""x10" bolt in stock but freight comes in monday so I should have it squared away by tuesday :headbang:

And I mean that guy was really getting on my case about it, saying "You're gonna kill someone, or yourself." but I think I trust ranger owners who have used washers over an employee spewing opinions haha

Don't let him stop you from using the washers. The guy at our Fastenal store asked me what I was doing with a shitload of huge washers and told him I was doing a lift for my truck. He was surprised at my answer.

Sounds good! I was looking through the washers I bought and ones cracked :annoyed:

I was hoping to get the washers welded and painted tomorrow but I guess I'll just wait till the rest of the hardware comes in on monday :icon_thumby:
