It'll only start when it cools off. But it'll crank all day just wont start. I thought I read something about someone saying theirs was getting spark but not enough. But when its started it runs and drives fine. I'm not sure where to start or finish lol.

P.S It's not Overheating.

TFI module may be getting too hott.

It's On the back of the distributor, when it won't start, I would check for spark at the plugs, if no sparky, TFI is probaly getting cooked.

I put a new TFI Module in 2 days ago. Started fine the first 2 fire ups. Now its doing the same thing. Dizzy getting to hot by any chance?

List of the new shit.

Starter
TFI Module
Starter Solenoid.
Igntion Control Mod.

But it wont even fire on Ether.

Is it getting fuel after it warms up?

Yes. I do believe. But I dont think fuel is my issue. Like I said it wont even start on Ether after its warm. But I pushed down the line on the Spyder and fuel shot up. So I'm for sure getting petro.

Some people have had similar issues with a bad ECT sensor, it is testable:

Whether their trucks start on ether, I am not sure. Test it at abient temp (cold) and once it's warmed up - ~190-200 deg F.

You could have fuel at the rail, but the injectors are the final say it whether you get gas into your cylinders or not (except in the exception of having a blown FPR). I know it's hotter than hell, but have you verified that you are getting spark when this happens? Something has to be missing...

just a reminder... sometimes "new parts" don't always work. Just went to AutoZone for a starter solenoid... bought a "new" one through it in... nothing. Tried everything else and replaced a starter and cables just to find out they sold me a defective solenoid. :annoyed:

Since I thought it was new I didn't even try to jump across it with a screwdriver til after other stuff was replaced... silly me :idiot:

fuel pressure regulator leaking fuel into vacuum line is a possibility that is easy to check for. If it isn't a severe leak, it will run okay, but is hard to restart.

10x took 3 trips to get a good TFI,

Took the TFI to Performance and had it heated and tested. It passed all tests. So now im really confused.

Going to check the ECT and FPR today. And see if I get anywhere. I'm supposed to be at the mud hole at 1 :-(

If it won't start on ether, then you are getting no spark. Even the most neglected pos engine left in a field for a couple years will fire over for a couple seconds after a shot of ether.....as long is the timing is right and there is spark.:icon_thumby:

did you test the coil when warm?
