My 95 ranger needs rear wheel bearings and no one can find the right bearing and seal for my rear end at all. The part numbers give me a bearing much larger than what I need. I've run into this before but don't remember the correct part numbers. Anyone rise know the part numbers I need it's got an 8.8 rear end in it

Sorry for my bad spelling in the title

I know it sounds strange, but I have an 8.8 and the axle seals I got did not fit either. You need the bearings and seals from a 7.5 axle

Ok do you have part numbers because no body can seem to find these bearing and seals.

Yeah unless you have the 31 spline 8.8, your 28 spline 8.8 is the same as the 7.5 with the exception of the carrier and gears. Might also have different length axle shafts as well, but everything else is 7.5 sized

No, just ask for the bearings and seals for a 7.5

This.

As said, the only differences between the Ranger 8.8" (28-spline) and a same-year 7.5" is the differential and gears (and in many cases the brakes, 9" vs. 10").

The wheel bearings, seals and axle shafts are the same for both.

This error in the parts store lookup computer has persisted for 2½ decades now (you'd think on a vehicle as common as a 4.0L Ranger, someone would figure this out, but I guess nobody cares or something). At this point it seems destined to last forever (and of course isn't the only error in their systems either :annoyed: ).
