My TP headers FINALLY showed up yesterday ($433 delivered...Holy SH!T!!) so figured I better get to looking into the fuel problem pretty serious and at least get it running before tearing into the exhaust.
So I adjust the floats and something just did not seem right. Then I eliminate the regulator and something still just seems not quite right. I smell my fingers....HOLY CRAP...it smells like...well...nothing!! Water! Go back and crack the line on the cell and water comes pouring out. So let that drain until gas started draining. Reconnected the line and pulled the carb feed lines, hold them out from under the hood and flip on the pump...looks like a dam garden hose running. Let that run until gas started coming out and drained some more into a jar. Very little water seperated...maybe a tablespoon in 6 ounces. So I ran it for another minute and shut off the pump.
So I pulled the carb, drained the bowls. Pulled the plugs and they were soaked with water. Today I'm going to clean, regap and index the plugs, dump some dry gas in the cell, check for water in the oil just to be safe and hook everything else back up and see if it fires. Hopefully that will cure the issue and get it running. I still think it is running rich though...that may require a jetting change.
Matt...hopefully I'll have it running on Sunday. Feel free to stop...you'll be driving right by.
