Really? I'm lucky I would have bought a second gen turbo'd one (all factory, not a single modification) with 130K on the clock, never rebuilt if I would have sold my Impreza instead of trading it in. Dude was selling it to get a hardtop for his s2k... he used the rx7 as a dd. Ran like a freakin champ.

Most people mod the engines though which does reduce engine life causing the complaint of the engines blowing early. There are many higher mileage never rebuilt rx7's out there that run well, it's what you do or how you treat the engine.

It's like saying a 3.0 will never make it past 100k without needing a major rebuild...

But due to the tuner nature and being ran to 9k at every shift yes they are more prone to failure.

and the rx8 being an indecent car dooms every rotary engine?

I was talking about the rx7 which is rotary powered and doesn't have a bad issue.

Generalizations man. And of course I know several people with rx8's that don't have issues, but yes rx8's kinda suck.

So don't say EVERY rotary engine sucks because they really don't. rx8's had a design flaw.

I don't like rx8's, but I do actually like the broken dorito chip design engines.

yes EVERY rotary engine sucks! The 4 cyl ranger engines are known to go over 250K. This is the cheapest engine in the cheapest truck money can buy by the way. No way in hell would it every be a good investment to buy an expensive sports car just to have the rotary engine go KABOOM a couple of thousand miles down the road.....stupid:sad:

TRS, like MLB, has been marred by the "steroid era".

I suspect there is more than one way to get to 300#. Either way, it's an unfair post-count advantage.

I would have voted "yes" if I were short enough to fit in one.

I like these....
