Would my underdrive pulley kill my battery?

Well I went to the bank today to get some of that hard earned money, only to turn right back around and spend it all on a new battery.

I put an underdrive pulley on about a month or so ago, and noticed that my truck was having troubles starting. Sometimes it would just click when the key was turned and then start, this time I wasn't so lucky.

I heard the pulley reduces the output on the electrical system, but I also heard it wasn't enough to worry about. If this really is the case, the old pulley is going back on.

Thanks in advance for the help guys.

There's another issue here. The underdrive pulley only slows the alternator down. The rest of the electrical system should be unaffected. I've had my pullies on for over two years with no issues.

I've had one on for 4 years without any problems at all.

there is a pulley that they make for the alternator to go with your underdrive set. Smaller pulley, faster spinning alternator, no more problems.

I've been running a crank pulley for over 2 years and haven't had any charging issues, even with an electric fan. Stock alt pulley and stock alternator.
