so i'm planning on puttin the james duff dual coil shock/coil mount(replaces the whole thing) and since it lets me put the loop style shocks in, instead of the stem, i was figuring i could go with the Bilstein 5150's

BF5-A198-H0 Part#
14" 5150
170/60 valving
14.53 travel
34.9 extended length
20.37 collapsed length

just wondering if anyone would know if i'd be ok with these with a 6" lift up front? or if another size would be better? by the way i found these at:

http://www.trsfabandoffroad.com/products/bilstein.htm

but if there is one that would be better lemme know

Pretty much any shock Bilstein makes will not disappoint. Just make sure those coil buckets are what you want though, as you cannot fit anything but a stiff RBV coil in them.

For proper shock sizing, best way would probably be to find out what length shocks JD provides with their 5.5-6" kit, and then match that up with the Bilsteins.

My FX4 came stock with bilsteins and they are awesome shocks.. Way better than the rancho's I had on my old ranger!

so beaujt, you got the lift im guessing. so are you getting them powdercoated or what? i know there was barely any paint left on them when i sent them.

um, well i had it sent home... and im 8 hrs from home, so i haven't gotten around to getting em powdercoated yet, but i am gonna be home over thanksgiving break, prolly gonna take them in and a bunch of other stuff to get it all powdercoated.

Skyjacker used to make a dual shock hoop didn't they? i was thinking instead i could just build my own and make it so i could use the eye loops instead of stud/stem thing. saw some pics of em before doesn't look to bad to build :D

i'm just trying to get it so i can match the shocks up but due to funds, i'm thinking monroe shocks for the f-250 super duty right? like a 98 fits with the eye loop, on a ranger with about 6" lift?
