worth the time to v8 a 2wd ranger?

It should, mine did (for a 2.8 though)

This is how I have mine wired, works great. I left the stock wiring to the coil in place and just spliced in where I needed whatever kind of power I needed.

no thanks. i want carburated and ford

If want to put a carburated engine in a truck that was originally EFI, you will have to do something different for the ignition. Duraspark is a pretty system to add in.

yeah, im hoping to get a complete donor truck and just swap in everything from the donor

Don't we all want a complete donor... I think I'd lick tailpipe for a 99 5.0 mountaineer that won't die 5k miles after swap. Mountaineer to match what I've already taken from one...
So your going 302 carbed? Or maybe bigger? More I read the more I wanna start scavenging parts to make mine awd, I don't plan on needing 4lo... But then I never planned on getting a ranger...

haha, to koda for suggesting the LS swap or to me for want a carbd ford lol

You for remaining with Ford. Internet low five!

I ended up going the way I did because my son ended up cutting a lot of the wires under the hood when he pulled the motor. This is also how I lost my AC......

I ran most of my power from under the steering column by testing which wires became hot after the key was on.

I always thought it would be kinda neat to find a std cab shortbox 98+ Ranger and make it a V8 AWD street machine...
