Working on bugs..advice please


Resting voltage is 17.34? This seems odd?
Was started yesterday and run briefly ….
 
Is that with engine running?
 
No..it’s been 24 hours since it was briefly run.
 
Lead acid and AGM automotive batteries are designed with 6 cells. Each cell is designed to provide 2.1volts. So, a brand new battery, fully charged should read 12.6volts plus or minus a few tenths of a volt. That's the chemistry. That is scientific fact. Can you get access to another voltmeter for a comparison reading? Something is amiss.
