Work Boots....

Insurance is a little less dangerous :)

Haha love having a new hire and going over insurance paperwork. Handing them the accidental death and dismemberment form puts a look on their face that you can't describe.

I have had Carhartt and Timberland Pro series boots. I prefer the Timberland Pro Series because it feels like walking a pile of baby ducks.

Lets see who can name the line reference 'feels like walking a pile of baby ducks.'

EDIT:

Here are the exact boots I have.

Thanks for the replies on this I will check into the custom boots, timberlands, and combat boots.

I am in sand and gravel with both wet and dry processes used. Its like walking on sandpaper constantly. Im a welder so a external met. guard saves laces. I am in boots for 12+hours a day.

Straycat. Its hell when a federal inspector shows up anytime any day unannounced. The government needs money and they write citations for anything.

Edit: MSHA COFR part 56 subpart N code 15003

Too bad those idiots did not show up when I was in combat...I would have shot them a few times and asked why there weren’t better protected.......lol...what a waste of people's money.

Yup. Can't argue with them. I have been issued a citation for not having a railing guarding a 1 foot and a half drop. Labeled as unsafe access.

Edit. This

So they pull of your workboots and look at them? How about the 'ol jockstrap? They want to sniff it and stretch it out too??.....Jeese......lol

According to OSHA rules... doesn't a company HAVE to provide any REQUIRED PPE?

I was told it's one thing if your company suggests it, but if they REQUIRE it, they must provide it... eh?

We tell OSHA to get lost. They have no authority over us.

Also I have a $250 allowance for PPE

I wear these at work. I have had my last set for 2 years now and they are just starting to show signs of needing to be replaced. I'm in oil/grease/diesel constantly.

I swear by West Coast out of Scapoose Or. 20+ years wildland firefighting and never had a blowout, torn seam or any issues. I have one kick around pair that has been rebuild 3 times and one that was my last pair of line boots. That pair is still in service 10 years after line duty.

They do custom work as well but they sure aren't cheap these days.
