My brother backed into our fence post today. This is on his nearly flawless 01 Edge. Turns out the entire side is made of thin metal and bondo. We were wondering why that bed side looked a different shade of red. Whatcha think? More bondo or new bedside?

Fully insured, replace it. Collusion only, bondo/sand/paint...

When you buy a vehicle from someone that you don't know, keep a magnet in your pocket and trace around the vehicle to look for bondo.

my stepdads 2000 F-150 was just like that , thin metal and bondo , i think it is seriously a factory thing , i say that because my stepdad owned his truck since it rolled off the line and the bed had never been touched in 9 years till he got hit , and it looked just like that

I blame the fence. It's very poorly placed. We've all backed into it at least once. It's been replaced a couple times in that spot.

Actually, I came within an inch or two of hitting it with my car the other day. It's directly behind (but 10 feet back) my parking spot, so you have to back up and a little to the right in order to back out of my spot. I'm guessing he was parked there while I was gone this weekend and that's the result.

Its most likely been like that since the dealer, its something like 70% of cars that go to the dealership need bodywork from transport and such. I had the same thing with my dodge ram the drivers corner of the cab was all bondoed up.

There is no way in hell 70% of vehicles going into a dealership need bodywork from being damaged. That would cost a fortune and why would they be so wreckless with so many expensive vehicles? I call :bsflag: until I see some stats.

yea i worked at a dealership that had 8 franchises in parts for 3 years and they sold 600 cars a month. i think in that 3 years there was one vehicle that was damaged during delivery and that was cuz the truck driver went under a low bridge and ripped the roof off an 08 silverado. if i were to guess i would say 5% at best
