Took a paid day off on Friday and went yard-hopping...found a good replacement diff for my 93 Ranger XLT...the ring and pinion got fried in it on a long-haul tow while relocating for job. Pulled some xtraneous scrap off the new/old diff on Saturday and Sunday...remnants from the cutting torch in the boneyard...popped the pumpkin cover open and changed the juice and resealed it. Checked with my fav old-style service station this morning on the way to work...they had time, so I left it and walked on in to work. They had it done by Noon, the wife volunteered to take me to lunch...big sandwiches and hot coffee...and back to the service station. They charged what they quoted, so Woo Hoo!! my wheels don't howl no more and I got it all done under budget. Plus I can now take off and roll wherever I want without waiting for the terminal crunch that a diff makes when it toasts itself.
Just hadda share...it's a good day in gooberville.
