I have a 1999 ranger and it wont crank over when its hot outside. If i roll the windows down and open the doors for 20min then it will start.Does anyone know what could be up with that.Early mornings it starts fine but as soon as it get hot in the cab it wont. Please help.

i have all the lights and guages but when you turn the key you get nothing. you can hear all the relys click but it wont turn over

it is a auto and it have the factory alarm. as soon a it cools down in the cab it will start up

My 91 used to do that, changing the starter solved the problem.

it have the factory alarm.

If the alarm has a starter interrupt relay in the cab then that may be the problem. Locate the relay and spray it with WD40, that should cool it enough to see if it's your problem. Also important to make sure your battery is in good shape in this heat.

i put a new starter in, changed the starter relay and the neutral safety switch. do you know where i can find that relay for the alarm ?

All those components are outside the cab. Why would you think opening the windows would have an effect on them? :icon_confused:

Not me, maybe someone else here can help. If you have a coded key then I'd spray the key tumbler from a can of computer cleaner such as "Dust Off" to see if cooling the sensor will pin point the problem.

after i did all that i found out that if the doors and windows were opeen for awhile that it would start.
