won't start ?

my 1985 2.3 5spd wont start ,but it will fire with starting fluid , the fuel pressure is in spec,i have replaced the Ecc and checked the ignition control module .

Have you checked the EEC relay I am not sure where it is on your truck but on the 2.8 it is next to the computer on the bulkhead in front of the passenger door?

Check that if the fuel pump is working the computer should be getting power. Are the injectors firing have someone crank on the starter while you listen to the injectors. Use the poor mans stethescope put a long screwdriver on an injector and put your ear up to the handle you should hear the clicking. Be careful of moving parts you can listen to bearings also alternater, power steering pump. Have you cleaned all the connector in the engine bay.

Thanks for the advice ! , now i am looking for the problem in the engine harness. would you know if there's anything on the engine sending unit etc that could turn off the injectors?

run a jumper wire from your self diagnostic plug to a ground if pump kicks on its the ground on fuel pump relay
