i was an idiot and mig welded the exhaust without disconnecting the battery, just a small repair and forgot. now i got 21 DTC's all to do with O2 sensors. Would it be the O2 sensors that i fried or would it be the ECU?

i can keep clearing the codes every half hour and it runs fine but eventually the idle bounces between 0 and 750 rpm and stalls when put in gear and very rough acceleration at low rpm

It's kind of hard to say really. I think you can check the output of the O2 sensor with a volt meter. Check fordfuelinjection.com on that to see if it falls in spec.

I would guess that if you have nothing getting to the O2 sensor, then the ECU is bad. If it's getting a signal but the O2 isn't firing back, perhaps the O2 is dead.

I know it sucks but another way is to just try a new o2 sensor and see if it helps. At least that's a part that wears out that it's not like your completely throwing money at it for no reason!

Thanks for the information, I'd rather not replace the o2 sensors if I don't have to because there is 4 or them and don't have the cash for that, the codes say bank 1 sensor 1, bank 1 sensor 2, bank 2 sensor 1, bank 2 sensor 2 for o2 sensor codes, so it sounds like its all four of them, gonna try a new ecu first I think
Thanks

You're right! I was thinking about my truck...I only have one.

Well, Checkout fordfuelinjection.com. I'm pretty sure theres a way to check the O2 sensors with an OHM meter. Hopefully you can find out what's wrong.
