Hi,
I'm new to this site so forgive me if I've overlooked the proper thread. I have searched for my problem but apparently my search skills are too weak. So here goes.
My steering goes from pulling hard one way to pulling hard the other. Sometimes it pretty well centers but usually I have to turn the wheel almost 1/4 turn to go straight. It usually takes a bump or sharp turn to make it change the direction it is pulling.
I packed and tightened the wheel bearings. I replaced the radius arm and axle pivot bushings on the left side and checked the ones on the right. I replaced the steering box because it was leaking anyway. I put a 2 foot pry bar on all 4 ball joints and I only got a slight movement on the bottom left one.
I actually checked the ball joints before I started changing parts, but I got a bigger bar and made sure the joints were unloaded the last time.
I have above average backyard mechanic skills and I'm considered a very good industrial machinery mechanic but either I'm missing something or doing something dumb.
I would appreciate advice or point me to the right thread.
Thank You,
Nick
