Hey guys! I have a 94 Ranger 2wd with 245/75/R16 tires and Im been having problems with my steering. It seems that every since I installed these tires Ive been thrown off the road at highway speeds every time I hit a bump. Ive bought new shocks but it still does it. Any suggestions would help! Also installing a drop pitman arm would it be a direct fit on the stock steering linkages? THANKS! :icon_confused:

What kind of tires are they?

They are dominators all terrain (LT24575R-R16)

Does it feel like the front end(Jerks to left or right?) or the rear end(Hops to left or right?) is causing the truck to "launch" off the road? :icon_confused: If ur not sure, test drive it (without loosing control) & reply:headbang:

It launches me off the road almost like the tire is loosing traction when hitting the bump. That why I thought replacing the shocks was the solution.

It seems that Im having front end traction problems at highway speeds when hitting bumps.

If the tread is deep then the truck will sway pretty bad when you hit bumbs. I used to have street tires and my truck was fine, but as soon as I put Super Swampers on it I could hardly keep it on the road especially after hiting a bump. It was like the tie rods were made of silly putty.

You put Light Truck tires on a truck that barely can be classified as a light truck as far as weight is concerned. What PSI are you running in the tires? I would suggest about 30 in the front and 28 in the rear when unloaded. Normally those numbers would be higher but since you put LT tires on it the tire is greatly stiffer and you don't need as much. Also, check all your steering and suspension joints for any play.

Checked my truck and found worned out radius arm bushing...would that be the problem? Also where can I get some poly bushings....might check out my local oriellys...:icon_thumby: Thanks guys...If I knew my truck was going to ride all crappy with these tires I shouldve kept my stocks its just that it rains and floods all the time in my area and that extra height has really helped me.

Let us know how the bushings work out--jack up the truck a little/use jack stands! & yank on everything real good(sometimes taking some weight off the wheels helps to find loose stuff that normally would feel tight--you might find something else that's worn out & important:headbang:
