Hey guys,

So i am in the middle of doing my bearings on my 1993 4x4 ranger. Now, it is a 4 cylinder model, so after reading the technical documents, it has mostly Dana 28 components. Regardless, on the driver side, I noticed the end of the axle, not sure exact name (but yeah, the end of the axle with the teeth where the manual locking up goes on), is wobbly in ts "housing".

I inserted a picture with an arrow point to where there is play.

It is normal for it to have quite a bit of play when everything is apart. Once the hub is put on and the splines are in their socket it is held fairly centered in it's bore.

great thanks a lot. i am just unfamilar with 4x4. I am trying to troubleshoot a weird sound I'm getting. It goes with the rotation of the wheel. i suspect loose bearings, so I am just making sure they are all tightened correctly.

I'd slap new ones in for as cheap as they are.

yeah for sure. I ordered some from rock auto. here in canada they are like 25 a piece, rock auto they're 5. F'n ridiculous.
