Trying to wire my efi 302 into my efi ranger

Iv got my 302 efi with a 4 speed manual from an 88 f150 installed in my 86 ranger that had an a4ld everything is high and tight. I removed the engine harness with the 2.9 and cut the wires far away from the plugs at the firewall so I would have lots of room to work. When I removed the 302 from the donor truck I left the harness attached to the engine I left the solenoid attached I even left the lights attached. Iv removed the lights, horn, wiper motor and washer fluid wiring. Now I look at what's left and am confused as to what exactly I need to fire my truck up. I have schematics for both donor and ranger but there is a lot more going on down there than I figured please if anybody can help simple this up. Iv read and re read the page on wiring on this site but I'm still lost.

Look for aftermarket swap harness kit for that 302.

I will call the parts place on Monday and look into that...
I figure somebody out there has wired these systems together before. Or even different ones what I need to know is what I need to put power to to make it run and charge properly. I hope with a little advice I can do this. But if the harness doesn't cost a lot I'd do it. Also my boss wants the truck out of his shop yesterday... Thanks for the reply

I took the schematics from both trucks and followed the paths of the wires using highlighters to match up the important power wires snd she fired right up

Awesome, You figured it out from the diagrams. I did an engine swap on a Grand Wagoneer. When I had the engine out , I spent a day cutting and splicing the wires that were beat up. Then, I used split loom to bundle the harness back together. The wiring was easy, the 35 feet of vacuum hose was a bigger PITA. :D

Yeah I think routing and hiding all the wires and old plugs is going to be the hardest part. One other thing I found was that the ground wire for the headlights and turn signals needs to be hooked on or the truck won't fire! It was a bit of head scratching and sure enough I attached that other ground and fire...
