I am putting in a manual t-case (from a 1988 Ranger 4wd) and noticed that there are 2 plugins . . . one is by the breather tube by the front output shaft and the other is right on top of the speedometer cable . . . what are the functions of these two ?? The other question is on the transmission top plate there is a plug in connector (has 2 solid green wires) and just below that is another plug in (red colored male connector) what does this do ?

Socket near the front of the case is for the 4WD and Low Range lights on the dash.
Socket on the speedo gear assembly is for cruise control.

The others on the trans are probably the reverse and neutral switches.

Any idea's on the wiring colors for these plug ins (on the 1990) ? I found 2 wires (solid brown & solid black) that were hanging down on the 4wd '88 donor truck that had been cut . . . looks like they could go near the t-case but I can't source them . . . Thanks for the input it is a start in the right direction. What purpose does the neutral switch do ?
