i don't mean to sound dumb ,but does the engine harness connect to the body harness , if so were on 2001 ranger edge ?

Large 42-pin connector somewhere between the brake booster and the intake manifold. It's square, and bolted together.

okay i know where mines at it's bolt to the driver's side valve cover thanks . \
also i know alot of 5.0 got destroyed in cash for clunkers program do yall think the wiring harnesses are still good ?

I know that all the vehicles that my local u-pull place got from the c4c program had their engines destroyed, but the rest of the vehicle was fine. I see no problem with the wiring harness if someone didn't trash it before you get to it!!!!!
