wiring question?

I forgot to mark the end of one of my pigtail connections. It's the low oil sensor. It is wired directly to the sensor. It has two pigtail ends. I'm not sure where either pigtail connector goes? Anyone have a pic of where the wiring goes?

I also had one of the fusible links break right at the wiring harness. How do you fix those? How would I fix it at the harness?

Found the main plug but still have a two pin that I believe goes into a sensor on the block. Not sure what the sensor is called? The motor I'm installing has a broken sensor out of the block.

Not to clear on what wires you are talking about, and I assume a 2.9l engine for '87 BII

There could be:
Oil level sender, 1 wire
Oil pressure sender, 1 wire

That's about it below exhaust manifold level on engine

Not sure if the '87 2.9l had a Knock sensor?
It would be below exhaust on the block as well



All "sensors" have 2, or more, wires


You need to solder the broken wire

It's the knock sensor. I'm going to leave it unplugged.

Not sure why you wouldn't use it?

Knock sensor will tell computer to retard the spark timing if engine starts to ping/knock.
If this happens you would notice a loss of power.
Pinging means fuel mix problem, EGR problem or carbon build up in cylinder.

Pinging can ruin piston, valves, and even blow a head gasket, which is why knock sensor was added.

You should get a Check Engine light if it is unplugged.

It was eliminated in 88. The year I'm taking my computer from.
