Okay, I have wired atleast ten aftermarket head units and amps, but for what ever reason I cant get my radio to work right. The stock radio works fine, but when I plug in my aftermarket headunit that only sound I gget is coming from the subs. If I unplug the RCA outputs to the amp then I get nothing. I know the head unit works because it was in my other truck for a while. I bought the adapter harness and soldered all my connections. The radio pwers up and works fine just no sound form the speakers.
My 94 that I took the radio out of had different plugs then my 95 so I couldnt look at it and compare. So I figured that my GF's 96 would have the same plugs as my 95, but it is just like my 94. So my conclusion is that the 95 is a Super Cab and that is why it is different. The only extra wire that I have never seen beafore is a black ground wire labeled AMP GROUND coming from the plug that has all the speaker wires. The other plug has a ground wire labeled CHASSIS GROUND. Now what I dont understand is if my amp is grounded to the chassis then can the AMP GROUND wire and the CHASSIS GROUND wired together?
