Wiring Harness

[99 Ranger 4X4]

Hey guys, im new here to the forums. I just bought a 99 Ford Ranger 4x4 with a 3 inch body lift and and set of 33 inch tires. The guy that had it before me was trying to wire up lights on the role bar, and lights on the front bumper. All of the power burned up the wiring harness and blew the fuse box. I have no experience with rangers so i will need some help through this. Does anyone know where i can get a wiring harness for a good price ? Also, the truck had a 3.0 Liter crate engine just put into it last year so i guess i will need to change the harness to one for a 3.0 Liter. What harnesses will work ?

I think you are talking about 2 separate harnesses. The engine harness and the body harness under the hood. The engine harness has to be for an auto or manual depending on your truck and if your engine is flex fuel you need a flex fuel harness or your injectors won't plug in(flex fuel injectors are grey and non flex fuel injectors are green) I think you can use 98-2000 on the engine harness. For the body harness you can use a harness from a 99 or 2000(in 98 the had crash sensors for the air bags on the radiator support). If your truck has power options the harness will need them also because they also go to the battery junction box under the hood. You also need one from a truck with 4x4 and probably 4wabs(the rabs is different)...happy hunting. I have some harnesses and I'm pretty sure I have an engine harness but I would have to check on the body harness depending on how your truck is equipped
