Does anyone make a plug-and-play harness for a VW TDI swap into a 3.0 or 4.0 Ranger?

If not, then I will do the research, contact Jim for permission and pay the fees, and make them if the interest is there.

I haven't checked into it. But I'd be willing to bet Trumps dividend income that the answer is "no".

So what year(s) should I focus on?

1987-200?
I would say the first year for a 2.9, through the last SOHC year. So 1987-20?? That would make what, 5 different harness’ due to changes in engines or harness routing.

I'm not sure it's that complicated. The TDI would use a different ecu/ control system. So the biggest interface to work out is the gauge cluster/sensors. The older (OBD I) would probably be easier. With the newer vehicles, you start running into PATS and smart junction boxes and weird instrument panel stuff.

TDI swaps have been done. But I'm not sure there is a great enough demand to make your trouble worthwhile on this. It's more of an "I'm gonna do it just cuz I want to." Kind of project.

Did anyone end up making a plug and play Wiring harness for a Tdi swap ? I’m thinking about doing this for my first vehicle but know jack about wiring

Wiring is a large bit about any other blueprint, you gotta learn how to read em :)

Curious if you ever attempted to make the harness, or would be willing to help with one

whatever year engine you want to use, study. hit the tdi forums first and see if its a worthy choice, and go from there.

there are adapters, or were. the older the truck the easier the swap.
