ok guys i plan on buying 2 amps roughly 1000 watts a piece to power 3 or 4 (havent decided yet) jvc 12'' dvc subs. my question is how do i wire the two amps up? i know how to run one, but that all ive ever done. do you have to buy a junction block or whatever its called? i only have one set of rca cables that exit from my cd player. any help or got a website i can go to?

i would not buy splitters for your rca's.
the more volts you have comin thru your rca's, the better the quality and output, and if you run a splitter you are cuttin the power in half..most amps now days come with a pass thru..run the rcas off your deck to the first amp, then from the first amp to the second...thats how im runnin mine, but i also have a line driver to boost the rca power...that can also give you some more dB's as well..

this is true, but if his amp does not have a pass through, then this will work fine. yeah its not the best way of doing it. but what other choices do you have when you hu only has 1 output

id have to agree with you on that one:icon_thumby:

actually, i take back what i said..i have an amp that doesnt have a pass thru, but its an xplod and its a 4channel..i dont believe they have them in the first place:thefinger:..but both of my monoblock memphis's have em

rca pass throughs are ok if you dont have a dedicated sub out set of rca's on your headunit, you wouldnt be able to pass a signal thats lpf'ed at around 100hz from your sub amp to your speaker amp. if you pass a signal intended for your speaker amp that is hpf'ed @ 100hz to your sub amp you wont get any sub bass. if you dont have a sub out set of rca's and use your amps x-overs to split up a full range signal it will work.

ok. i run dual voice coil subs. if i hook two dvc subs together and use 2 2/1 channel amp to power both of the subs does that put a 1ohm load on the amp?
